Type Order

Looking at the order in which type is seen. The task was to order the text, from the newspaper article above how we read the type, where is eye is taken to.

The first thing I notice is the header. I think this was because of the bold text, but also there is a lot a blank space, a contrast from the busy page this draws your eye in.

The next thing I read was the header, the use of red took my focus to the top of the page.
I then found my eye was drawn to the name of the article author because of was in bold. Before I ever read the sub heading or the article I find that I know the article author.
Next my attention was taken to the sub heading.

Then finally I began to read the main body of text.

I found it interesting to see how newspapers can control its readers attention just from their layout and type choices.
