I chose to use a coral colour, because it stands out without being too bright and bold. It still has a relaxed calm feel to it.

I want to stay away from using multiple fonts as I want to keep it simplistic. Also I don't like the colour and will experiment with other colours.

Another idea for I book that I had. I decided to go with the hangover guide because i had more research for it, and it would be something i would personally find more interesting.

Looking at different fonts. I have decided to go with the last one; Moon Flower Bold as it looks the most friendly and fits the feel of the book better.

Design decisions

I decided to go with a 4 column layout, because with 6 columns i thought that the text looked more narrow and it make the page look overcrowded and too busy. I think that a four column grid aesthetically is better and balanced well on the page and with the content.

I decided to keep the heading and page numbers to the outside of the spread and the images and text to the inside. I did this because I think that it sits better on the page and follows better like this. 

I moved the header to the middle third of the page because I thought it looked unbalanced too bottom heavy at the bottom of the page.

I completely abandoned my old designs when I actually started to mock them up in indesign; because I didn't think they worked, however i do not think it was wise of my to not work from designs and meant creating the spreads was a long and difficult job. In future I will experiment in InDesign while I am still at the design process.
